| Post subject: | Moving front diff forward. How much |
Have searched but can't find a consistent answer. I am getting new main springs soon and I want to move the front diff forward. I was wondering what a good distance forward would be. I run 31x10.5's at the moment with no scraping but i want to move it forward now as it's not going to make the job any harder.(plus I may stuff around with bigger tyres down the track) The question is how far should I move it forward? I will post a pic of the clearance at standard ride height to help with the answer |

I've done a few RUF's and they seem to relocate the diff about 20-30mm forward. Things to consider are your tierod/drag link clearances, and scrubbing of tyre under the headlight. Also watch for the shocky striking the back of the bumpstop bracket. If you get no scrubbing now, might be best to keep the move to 20mm or less. |

As Pete says one of the limiting factors is the clearance between tierod/draglink this is how close they are in a WT beforeyou start moving diffs forward.

much more than 30mm, shit would be getting real cozy between steering links |

I moved mine 10mm forward with 30's. It required the inner guard behind the headlight bucket to the massaged. |

Should mention I have 2inch body lift and about 2 inch in the springs and another inch or so in the shackles |

I guess I just have to check to see if I can get away with 20mm with the steering |

mine is around 50mm forward, the links rub just enough to take the paint off. the first time the suspension compressed it wrecked the shocks but that was easily fixed i have had the same setup for 4 or so years now with no issue. rubs a little
this stopped the shocks from hitting the bumpstop thing.
