Hey Guys, If i remove the rear driveshaft from my Vitara will it drop the oil from the gearbox or break a seal? I think the squeal my car picked up has come as a result of a slight dent in the yoke cover/bell that is on the gearbox end of the driveshaft. I just don't want to remove the shaft and be owned by a stream oil. Cheers for any help

A lil bit will come out, but not much, as the fill point if lower than the drive shaft... seal "should" be ok.. |

Can always do what we did with a mate's hilux ute when we replaced the rear main seal in the gearbox, jack the back of the vehicle up and you won't get ANY oil out the back. |

Pretty sure the front shaft lets all the oil out, I got owned by it, and so did my drive way |

Squeal turned out to be the drive shaft joints being too dry... I had them replaced on my way back from Canberra and it looks like the mechanic forgot to put a nipple on one of them or it fell out. No more squeekies after being filled with precious grease! |
