ummmm i am trying to remember myself....i USED to have some photos of it, but i dont have them anymore.........from memory, if u take the top of the carby off, you will see a hole. on top near the fuel cut off solenoid.....the idle jet is down inside it......would be good if someone else had a pic of the idle jet on a sierra carby........

i have had this trouble for a few weeks until someone showed me how to take the carby apart and clean out the idle jet. It's easy if someone shows you.

ok if u take the top of the carby off and have a look at the area right next to the fuel cut off solenoid and the accelerator pump, there will be a small jet inside there. it is VERY small...and gets blocked up very easily. and it would prob be a good idea to give you carby a good clean out while you have the top off (if u decide to do it!!)

it should be in the area i have marked with the circle

also check the fuel solenoid.....and make sure it is working ok.....apart from that all i can recommend is to give it all a good clean to make sure that there is no more crap in the carby that is going to get sucked back into the idle jet....and put a new fuel filter on maybe???put one on after the fuel pump just before the carby.....

i had a LOT of problems with my old sierra carby with this sort of problem and once i had done all that to it it seemed to work ok

if u pull the fuel solenoid out and hold the metal body of it onto the negative of the battery and then put the wire coming off the solenoid onto the positive. u should hear and feel it click, and u should be able to see the needle inside it move (i think)

If you found crap just just after the fuel solenoid, chances are that there more through the whole thing. Think a full tear now and clean will be your best bet.
