Hey guys just a quick question, I'm up to organising my bump stops for a spoa, lux diff setup. I want to see pics of other peoples basic bump stop setups, no fan dangled hydraulic shit. The problem I have, is I've done a U bolt flip front and rear, and the only bump stop setups I can think up in my head would look horrible, as the plate sits on top of the springs now. So if you have some pics of u bolt flip, bump stop setups, I'd appreciate it, as this is the last of my suspension mods before moving onto to easier work with the chassis. Thanks, Simon. |

In this pic we chopped of the bump stop off to get better idea of how far the wheel could go up into the arch..... anyway the point is, it's a piece of RHS (rectangle hollow section) welded to the top of U-Bolt plate.

cut off the front mounts all together and make a new lower set, it will look stocker then spacers.... |

True that, it's looking that way as I've utilised a set of factory shock towers from a rodeo, just put picks up to photobucket, shall upload now. |

Alien, how does the centre of that bump stop work? I was thinking a bolt welded to the chassis, then a bump stop, then a nut to hold it up, but obviously that would bend the bolt? Thanks, Simon. |

All bumpstops usually have a stud formed into the back of the stopper. Like Vits or Jimny rears. All you need then is a plate, or something the size of the stop, or larger, with a tapped hole in it so you can screw it in. Then for the plate to bump on, it has to be pretty solid. Get the bumps you want, then work out how to mount them. All different bumps have all different mountings and styles. If the diffs are in the original wheelbase, you can use the old sierra chassis bumps tops as the stops, and mount the bumps into the ubolt plate somehow. Once you cut those u-bolts you will get a better idea on what room you have to work with. But dont cut them too short, your going to need another leaf in that front pack at least.. |

mines off a GV i think? (cant remember) - basically its a poly block with a hole right through the middle, steel sleeve inside and a threaded plate on the chassis - then an allen key bolt goes down the centre of the bump stop and screws into the chassis. |

Pretty sure 80 series bumpstops are slightly progrsseive and big and rubbery. As are one's off toyota ke70/ae71/ae86 rear. easily cut downable with a hacksaw. And I can't help with lengths so no real tech sorry |
