Hey guys.

Still having bit of trouble with my wiring loom and not feeling to confident anymore. Ive spent several hours reading on the net and dont seem to be getting anywhere. The Mk2 engine is going in my 90 sierra tintop.

Is there someone out there that would be able to assist so that its nearly plug and play and labelled.

I dont mind paying, just want to put in hands of someone that knows what they doing.

Wes

best thing to do is spread the loom out on a large flat surface the same way it would be routed in the original car, then work out what plugs are what for the engine and mark them

then pull all the tape and loom coverings off and using some print outs of the wiring diagram start weeding stuff you dont need out, its easy to find the wires that run engine to ECU, then youll have ones that run from the ECU to a relay or something, using the diagram work out what it is and if you need it, like power relays and fuel pump relays and stuff, mark off the open end with what it needs to do

Then do the same with the engine side, find the wires that go somewhere else, things like temp sensors and starter wires and so on

Once you are down to that you will be suprised how small it all is

Next lay the sierra loom out how it is in the car and overlay the GTI loom so the parts that fit the engine will be in the right spot, tape it in place so it cant go anywhere and start hooking in the loose ends following the orignal wiring, youll even find a lot of times the wire you need to hook up will match colour with the wire you need to hook it too so its made a bit easier
