Yes I have seached first. I fitted an el 110amp alternator to my 1.3 lt zook. I have made a new cable that goes from the alternator through a 60 amp fuseable link and to the main battery. cable is 7.5mm diameter. I have ran it for a while and it charges at 13.7 Volts which is good. When i turn on 4 HID lights as well as the head lights and wind my highmount winch in and out the positive battery post gets bloody hot. What am I doing wrong. the 60 amp fuse never blew |

I would say that the terminal is getting hot because of the load going out not the amps coming in and that is what you have fused by the sounds of it. |

when testing, measure voltage on the BATTERY POST and then on he terminal or on the cable as it comes out of the terminal, any voltage difference there under load means you have resistance and its causing the heat 13.7 volts is also too low, you want to see 14.4 or so with a few revs on board |

what is the amp rating of the wire you used. most supacheap stuff is barely 10amp. |

All sorted. Had a bad earth so I ran a new earth cable and moved the positive cable to the imput on the 4 pos battery switch. All good now. 14.3V at about 900 RPM |

Why are you running a 60A fusible link with a 110A alternator? When you load up the alt with flat battery/ies or accessories you will wish you hadn't fitted a puny 60A fuse...... It defies the whole point of upgrading to a larger alt... I suggest you fit 150A+ cable and a 120A fusible link.... |

I have a Hundred amp fuesable link. was just running a 60 until I figured it out |
