Can anyone help me answer this question? I want to source/hack up some rough cheap doors for my 97 coily softop. Will older model Sierra doors fit on? After many hours online searching ive come up with nothing. Your knowledge would be greatly appriciated thanks guys. Ps, this is my first post, anywhere. So if im doing it incorrectly please let me know. |

I know that the seals are definitely different and I believe that the door shapes are slightly different as well. Happy to be proven wrong tho. |

pretty sure coilys have side intrusion whereas leafy doors don't. by fitting leafy doors to a coily you are not meeting ADRs and the vehicle is unroadworthy. However, if your doing it for only offroad use then it won't be of concern to you. it might not concern you anyway, but at least you are aware of it. |

The doors are completely interchangable. Differences are.... Coily doors have better seals and bailey channel. Coily doors have side impact bars (so thin they are fucken useless) Coily doors have a slightly different door lock assembly that is not directly interchangable with leafy. Coily doors have nicer door cards. Shapes are identicle. |

There must be some leafy's with the side intrusion as well. I have a 1990 and when you shut the door you can tell it's just two sheets of tin and it goes clang. Mate's 1994 goes thunk the same as another mates coily. Doors sound like they are made of more than mine, less rattly clangy by a LONG way! |

Thanks heaps for that guys thats helped me out. Im not at all concerened about intrusion bar legal issues, most cops dont have a clue what they are looking at. If you do a sweet job on something, make it look like it came from factory like it they dont even notice it. Now all I have to do is convince my fiancee to let me buy some cheap doors (and catches by the sound of it). Thanks again !!! |

Differences are.... Coily doors have better seals and bailey channel. Does this mean the coily seals/bailey channel is a direct fit for a leafy door? I'm about to replace mine and want the best seal/waterproofing possible. |

I have a brand new set of leafy door seals for sale if you want. I bought them before finding out there is a difference between the coily and leafy ones. |

Thanks for the offer Brodie03, but all I really need is a couple of trashy doors that I can cut right down low. Small dents, bit of rust, buggerd window regulators smashed windows ect are all fine, and in a way prefered. That way I should be able to get them dirt cheap, and my other half will let me buy them haha. Insert sob story here: We just had our first child, and ive also just broken my hand so as a tree climber/mechanic, im out of work for a while. So I have a strict budget on the doors. You should sell them quite easily I would imagine, new gear (especially doors!) would surely be sought after. |
