Hi guys

Needing to replace the springs in the zook (89 sierra) but dont know which ones to go for. so far am looking at either, Kings, EFS or OME. any suggestions. when asking the retailer i get the usual answer that their brand is the best.

Just taken out the SOA conversion and have kept the extended shackles but still wanting 2 inch lift from the springs.

can anyone recommend or not any of the above. dont know how soft or hard they are for travel.

Wanting to get them and put them in this weekend so any help would be appreciated.

Speaking from experience, i put a set of OME light duties in my swb hardtop and there very smooth giving a nice ride. Tho they are only 40mm lift ( bit under 2 inch). Brand new in there stock standard form they will travel to the bumpstops.
It seems that a compromise must be had between ride height and spring stiffness/travel. The OMEs sit the zuk fairly low compared to efs or kings but offer a nicer ride and flex.

I've had King springs on two cars and haven't had a problem and would buy them again. Some people say the King springs give a stiff ride but i found them to be ok, i've had 31s and 30s running at about 20psi everywhere.

had kings in 2 cars as well, removed the smallest leaf in all and they went even better
OME have more variety to suit your application though if you carry loads or are very light and so on

there are a mob in Brissy that sell a cheap brand that i have had in rear since zook and found them real good.

Bluemax are cheap jobbies, I put 'W's in them with SPOA so gave them back.

EFS are pretty stiff in standard configuration,still with load spring. Bluemax I won't touch again, Kings seem to hold up well once they have been settled in. If you want a true 2" EFS or Kings. If ride is more important OME

Paid $606.00 4xsprings, nolathain bushes all round and u bolts

looks sweet. now to change the tyres over and she'll do for now

ya the ride is definately bumpier, but in a way nicer. on road you have the bump and its done with verses the sagged springs it would slop around longer.

definately doesnt have as much travel as when we had the SOA in it but still impressive. will post some pics later of last nights hack later.

have you checked to make sure your shockies are the correct length aswell? if the shocks limit the travel, either limit up travel or down travel you might end up wrecking the shocks when they bottom or top out

sorry for the delay in replying.

shocks are fine. using the same ones from when we had the SPOA. went for a play yesterday. had a ball. its amazing how others always seem impressed at the zooks capabilities.
