i have read this and all the others before anyone says anything.... 
http://www.auszookers.com/index.php?nam ... pic&t=4140 my problem is my petrol guage wont work  i did what it said in the link, when i say it doesnt work..i mean its not correct. right now with a full tank it says half on the dash.
i have a spare fuel sender unit i put in that works perfect but still doesnt read right.... 
so whats wrong does anyone know???? |

The probability is you have a bad connection somewhere - the tank not properly grounded, a corroded connection between the gauge and the sender - that sort of stuff. Disconnect the wire from the tank sender and ground it - do you get a full tank indication now? If not - check the wiring. |

mine never went to full properly so I couldn't trust it, So I started to measure how many km's I could get from a tank. That is my fuel gauge now. |

if the wire is earthed out and it shows full on the dash you most likely have some obstuction in the tank or bad eath |

I had the same problem and it was the earth, all I did was run a bit of wire from a bolt on the chassis and put it under one of the bolts that holds the sender in the tank. Fixed straight away. Oh and that's the second thing I tried, first was testing it while the tank was out but that was only because the tank was out! |
