Anyone got a Jimny front diff center they can measure? I need to know the ID (Internal Diameter) of the crown wheel. Both 8 and 10 bolt crown wheels would be great. I want to use the hemisphere in an LJ if I can make it fit.

I have 1 jimny front centre to get rid of here..

Crownwheel ID 107mmish, By verniers by eye as i cant get them in there.

4.09 High pinion(reverse cut gears), like all jimny fronts. The centre bolts up with 8 bolts, And the crownwheel bolts to the carrier with 8 bolts.

Jimny rears are low pinion, very similar to 1.3 sierra in sizing. So thats the 10bolt your talking about.

Thanks BlueSuzy. Can you also give me the overall length between the shoulders which the bearing press up against. I need to use an LJ crown wheel and pinion in an LJ housing.

Post 2003 Jimny fronts have a 10bolt crown wheel. 98 to 03 have a 8 bolt front. I need to use an LJ crown wheel and pinion, might be a chance of fitting a RD118. :D

I'd be interested to see if a 10bolt has the same ID, it would save re drilling the crown wheel mounting face if the LJ crown wheel fits over the hemisphere.

crownwheel carrier, inside shoulders for bearings. 93mm
Full length of carrier is 133ish, edges of the tube which bearings go around.

Mine is out of a 00'm13aauto.

What are the Lj dimensions?

Thanks again.

I have the LJ center at home and I can't remember exactly what the spces are but I am guessing smaller.

The LJ is 97mmish (couldn't get the verniers in and it was to late for the rattle gun) 90mmish between bearing shoulders.

Can you tell me the PCD of the 8 crown wheel bolts? There is plenty of crown wheel that can be machined off (machining case hardened gears is fun) to fit the larger hemisphere and I hope the bolts will be the right PCD.
