I have bought a 99 model Suzuki jimny I would like to put patrol diffs under and flare out the guards also would want to put 6" lift with 35" tyres what would I need to do and how much would it cost roughly I was thinking that I could pick up a used set of diffs or buy smashed patrol and use parts any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Are you handy with a welder? If not then you should be budgeting upward of $10,000. It's obviously going to be some kind of comp truck?

yer, if you're doing patrol diffs you may aswell do 37s, and you'll have to extend the wheelbase otherwise the tyres will touch each other in the middle.
flare the guards, that'll be a big flare!

There is a guy somewhere on the web from oveseas ( I think maybe Greece, not 100% sure though) somewhere that has done the patrol diffs under the Jimny.

forget 6" lift... put the diffs under it, coil springs and links and see what works... something like that is going to be trial and error.
that pirate link is good, but the ute chop looks shocking =)

Relax dude. Your asking for advice on how to perform a build that many of us think is pointless.
My advice would be to go on some trips with your local suzuki club or guys off of here. Do you know anyone with patrols and 35's? Have you been out driving with them? Do you know why you want patrol diffs and 35's, because many of us think that is a backward step.
With all due respect, it sounds like you have had an idea for how you want your car to look, but you have no idea how you want it to perform.
I can tell you from experience that a Sierra, or Jimny with 31 or 32" tyres will outperform anything on patrol diffs and 35's, except in pure boulder type rock ( and it's pointless building a full bodied, hartop car for boulder type rock). On trails, on road, in ruts, and especially in mud and wet tracks, you're worse off with the heavy diffs.
Remember, 35's are small tyres for patrol diffs. The diff clearance sucks.
One you step up to the weight and bulk of patrol diffs, you've mostly destroyed the advantage of a suzuki offroad - your stuck with the same track width and same ground clearance as everyone else, and that sucks.
As for adding 6" of lift, why? How did you arrive at 6" as the right number? From the sound of it you don't have the tyres or axles, so how could you know how much lift you need? Lift height is a result of tyre clearance and guard chopping - it's the lowest height you can run the car to make it work. It's not a starting point.
Personally, I'd be aiming for strengthened suzuki based diffs like JML's floater/cromo axles and 33's, aiming for around 2-3" of spring lift with an emphasis on droop travel. Setup like this, he car would be sooo much more capable and drivable than a patrol diffed car it's not funny.
One person suggested you'd need 37's and a wheelbase stretch to make patrol diffs work. I'd agree with that, and that's why a bunch of "smartarses" posted "buy a patrol" If you want your car to perform like a patrol, buy one.... and be prepared to be outdriven by suzuki's on 31's.

I have a patrol on 35's.....and im lookin for another zook....
Its gunna be alot of work bud when ya could chuck a 3'' lift under it and wack some 33's on it and bobs ya uncle....

my brother has a GQ, and his diff clearance on 31's is 5mm less than my sierra on my ~28's... i dont know how jimny's are for clearance, but that gives you an idea anyway.
in the long run it would be cheaper, quicker and easier to strengthen the existing diffs and use them, and they would probably work better anyway. having said that, go for it regardless, see how it works, be sure to make a build thread to show us how its going.

my 75 troopie has the same diff clearance on 33s as my sierra on 31s.
i even measured it so isn't a guess.

To run 33's on the jimny with only a 3" lift will need a alot of body work to make them fit. E.g. http://offroad-armoury.forumotion.co.uk ... robs+jimny

That way he can get a feel for how fun and capable these little 4wds are, even in stock guise.
I know the Suzuki club in Brissie would be happy to have a modded Jimny on a run. The only issue would be rego though.
