Hi everyone This is my first post. I am seriously thinking of buying a late model Jimny auto (checking one out tomorrow). I am wondering if the autos are any good. I wont be doing anything to hard on it, mostly bunny shooting and the odd bush track. Would love a manual but my legs are stuffed and have my license restricted I expect it will be a bit sluggish on the highway. any things to look for on used ones? cheers hookie |

i think it was the jimny auto that suzistore were telling me is horrific to replace (price wise) and that they had an issue with the hardening failing? i might be mistaken though... im sure someone else will chime in with more info |

I have a '99 Jimny Auto... 200k.... Its been terrific !! Actually I think the auto performes better than the manual, given the torque convertor lock up, appearances are that the final gear ratio is better suited in the auto. OK so now I am in the open...... SHOOT ME !!! Bill |

I've built a car running a Jimny auto. It's been fine. I believe a replacement auto is $8500 from suzuki. Auto jimny wrecks get snapped up quickly at auction. I'd run a large aftermarket cooler, and a temp gauge on the auto. Make sure the car is properly geared, and the converter is locking at cruise- that will pour heat into the auto. Not a problem with a standard car, but maybe a problem of the car is running larger tyres. auto Jimny's drive well, and autos are so much better to drive offroad that the lost throttle response on road is easy to get over. Go the auto, you won't look back. Steve. |

I too have heard mention of the M13 auto being a bit on the weak side. |

G'day all, This is my first post here as well.
I've searched and found that Members with Auto Jimnys only have good things to say about them. I'm looking at getting an Auto Jimny as well, for no other reason than I'm lazy ! Just Wondering what's the go is with transfer case's do Auto Jimny' use the same case as Manual? and does any one do a low Ratio case for the push button Jimny? Thanks BOB. |

Hi BOB. Welcome. If you are not doing a engine swap for a bigger more powerful motor, then the auto box will be just fine. No idea about the ratios though |
