Don't know if its across the board, but mine are! Usually a clean and lube of the linkages will do wonders in a older car. As the internal cage makes getting to motor and assembly hard, I haven't bothered. Instead I use rain-x on the outside and fog-x on the inside, that sorts it out for me. |

Yeah, as Tim said. If you drop the screen down (soft tops only) you can strip apart all the linkages and grease up the sockets. Also spray a bit of WD40 or similar on the moving parts that go through the panel under the screen. These tend to sieze up a bit. |

rain-x is awesome, the water beads up making it easier to see through. Then once over about 60kph the water runs off. Most of the time I don't use wipers in rain - especially at night on the highway, the wipers are a distraction and do nothing of benefit anyway. I use it on windscreen of all my cars, motorbike goggles & waterproof camera housing. Fog-x is also good, as I find the demister a bit hit and miss. |

Just about any autostore should stock it. They usually sell a single wipe or a bottle that'll last you a couple of yrs for nearly the same price Don't buy the single wipe!
Application as per the bottle. I do all side/rear windows and mirrors too. |

The problem I have with Rain-X is the need for constant reapplication. |
