Shitty thin steel and poor seat mount/ floorpan design. Just keep an eye out for it, and WHEN it happens, get it repaired properly.

With mine, (rear of passenger seat)
- I ground everything from the area so I could see the end of the crack.
- drilled a hole with a 30bit at the branches and end of the crack
- welded, cold gal'd and then primed and painted
I was thinking I could cut some 2mm plate that I have laying around to approx 50mm square, drill a hole centre for the bolt to go through and tack in where the foot of the seat base sits. To possibly spread the load a little.
Or how else should I have fixed it and whats a bette way to strengthen it?
My other idea was remove the captive nut, run a strip of ~4mm x 50mm or so mild steel as a strap under the floor to both the rear mounts with 8.8 Bolts and nylocks underneath.
