Power for fridge from Gv power point

Got a suzuki GV1999, want to run the fridge a 40 litre engle. Can I power that from the power point in the rear luggage area. Its say 12v 120w on the cover, which but my calculation means 10amp the fridge has a 10 amp fuse. So in theroy it should work.
Am I right or about to turn my wiring into a smouldering mess.

I am only going off what I learned in physics. Your calculation in correct (P=VI) so it should be fine. Maybe wait for a few other responses first but hahaha.

I run my 35L waeco of the power supply in the back of my GV and had no problems yet.

Yeah just check that point, is it switched with the acc or is it permanent power?

So long as its permanent it should be fine. Having to leave your ig switched to acc would be a bit of a security nightmare.

Not now

I have put a switch in and wired directly to the battery (with fuse) but it previously worked fine also without having a meltdown.

Our GV 12v in the back will only work with the ignition switched on.

Exactly the same. I run my 35ltr Waeco of that point in the cargo area all the time. No problems

But you will find you are not getting full benefit out of it.
The wires are really thin and you will lose voltage.
When I had my GV (I did have a dual battery system but I would have done the same if only 1 battery) I ran twin 6mm wire straight from battery (with inline fuse) to another socket beside the std one and ran my 50lt Waeco from that.

Plug it in works fine will be running the fridge off of the outlet on our way to Vic, will then wire the fridge direct too the extra batterys i'll be packing.
Bummer it turns off with the ignition switch.
