Post subject:  Paging bearing suppliers!! Maybe weaves?
So my SWB WT SJ70 has started to develop a front end wobble at the standard 70 clicks so I want to nip it in the bud and rebuild my hubs straight up. I can feel some king pin play and it wouldnt hurt to do the lot while im there. Bushes etc are good as they're all about 1000km old and I've adjusted my PS recently.

Anyways who's good for a full rebuild kit in Adelaide (would like it ASAP for easter 4WDing) or quick postage to get here say by wed?.

What do you drive?

Also, is that what causes it? I thought it was just my bent rims and lumpy tyres along with wheeling it and causing issues!

Sorry edited my post. Well it's not always the case, as I've found from reading a lot of threads. The thing is its sat for 3 months while i was away and is now developing a wobble, so I know its not a damaged rim etc. I did PS and new OME suspension before i went away so all my bushes etc are in top nic and my box is tight enough. So i'm figuring king pins so I'll rebuild the whole hubs while I'm at it. Is it possible your tires developed flat spots? Take it out on a curvy road with tight corners and warm up the tires. Please, don't speed or anything like that, but go for a long drive, and maybe hit the freeway too.

See if that doesn't sort out the wobble a bit.

I have taken out some shims on the king pin bearings to tighten them up when the bearing was good, but they had worn in enough to loose the pre-load. Removing the shims has gotten rid of many a wobble.

While I am in there I always check the wheel bearings and their pre-load as well. Usually re-doing the pre-load is all it takes. Sometimes the bearings are shagged if they are really old, or see alot of mud and water, then then a pre-load reset won't work.

I would go for a nice long drive on the freeway, and through a few curves first though. If it didn't have a wobble when you left that is the only thign I can see changing while you were away. I am all for spending a little time to save some hard earned cash :mrgreen:

Thought I'd post here rather than starting a new post.
I have a seal here that I'm not sure what it is.
Part number is 401291N.
Weaves can you please shine some light on this. I found it in my box of spare T/case parts but it looks a bit large for a T/case seal.
