Hi all, I currently looking at replacing the tired motor in my zook and I am just keen to find out what you all think would be a better upgrade, a G13B G13BB or G16B. I know the G16B produces more power and torque and finding one should be considerably easier, But the G13B and G13BB would allow me to do the conversion as a "Owner Certified" modification therefore will not require a Engineer Certificate (according to the RTA vehicle Standards Info, please correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks heaps Guys! |

Talk to an engineer before you do any work or buy any parts and explain everything. Apparently it's not hard to get the 1.6 engineered but I've heard insurance is different. |

As for engineers cert. They're easy to obtain, The hard part is forking out the $400 odd for a few pieces of paper. To be completly honest/nieve I highly doubt a cuntstable is going to make you pop open the bonnet on a 4WD, especially a Zook, unless he's an enthusiast too. In my last car, A cop pulled me over because he saw on his computer that it was engineered, He only wanted to check out what I had done, only because he knew how rare that model car is and his missus had one and he liked what I had done to it. But of course for insurance or peace of mind purposes, It is a wise idea. |
