Vitara starting problem

G'day Auszookers :helloo:

The misses vitara is having a starting problem :roll:

The other day i went to start it and it just went click :evil:

got the jumper leads out and she started, so i thought the battery was on its way out :roll:

She started fine for a few days and then them same click :evil:

so i went down and got a new battery and the same thing click :evil:

At this stage i thought starter motor (even though its less then a week old as is the motor aswell :evil:

) so i gave it a tap with a length of bar and it started :roll:

Now the last couple of times she has started with no problem till just before when Kate was at the shops i had to go down to try to get it started in the pouring rain :evil:

jumper leads and tapping the starter motor and she still wouldn't start till five mins later when i was soaked to the bone click and she started :roll:

I'm putting it down to starter motor but i'm not 100% sure as it's less then a week old :evil:

what do you guys think?
It's a 92 LWB EFI vitara

Take it back to the shop that did the work/supplied starter...

Sound's like a sticky solenoid..

Um i bought the starter off the back of a truck last November :lol:

Suzistore put it in when they done the motor
Is it easy to take the solenoid out and fix it?

sheps clicky starter fix should fix it.... just get some electrical string & a relay, i know how much you love playing with the stuff.

make sure your earth lead is still well connected.
clean and sand terminals etc.

yep, just take the solenoid of & clean the contact's....
Try the relay first, may save you pulling the starter out..
