a 25mm front bump stop spacer and moving the front diff moved forward 20mm will clear the 30s, it'a all about comfort if you want to change anything else :D

I have a 2" lift and 31s. Had stock gearin was drivable just not fun to drive.
Only took a hammer to the guards to fit.

30s should be a little bit better then i guess. im replacing the front bar with a custom one so the front wont be a problem. but moving the diff isnt an option for me.

Im only running 30's on my reasonable stock zuk. Have a look at my build thread for some inspiration if you haven't already.

28.8's or 235/75 tyres fit with the only mods required being flattening of teh wheel well seems and cutting the front bumper outriggers off.

You'd be surprised just how much extra hassle 30's are to fit properly re: no rubbing on full articulation/steering etc

I cleared mine with a virtual lift, massaging the arch behind the headlight buckets and moving my front diff 10mm forward. Overall I only run 10mm bumpstop extensions in the front.

I have 31's with probably 50mm spring lift and 100mm center shackles. The I got my bb hamer out and beat the shap edges of the guards, if u cut them every 20mm with tin snips they form easier and inverted me rears and used Hilux 2wd shocks at the back and am waiting for a vs wagon rears to come up at a good price to wack in the front. All in all a bit of guard rub but that's the name of the game. Where they rub is smooth so it won't chop your tires up.

I ran 31's with stock gearing for about 9mths on mine, and other than a bit of excessive clutch wear, never had any real mechanical issues. You will loose 5th gear and any effective low range tho, but this can be adjusted for with changes to driving style, ie I used to drive steep descents with my hand brake engaged

cant move the diff because it to hard. measuring and all that crap. and noing me ill stuffit up some how. but im guessing im gona be alright with a two inch lift, outriggers gone and some slight pannel beating. if not ill chcuk some shackles at it

65 mil EFS Springs are great
i can clear 31s with it ... but will scrub .. on flex 30s with 65 mil lift
should clear ..

I'm running 235/75R15's with 4.1 diffs and 1L transfer and low range is still way to high. 30's with std gearing wouldnt be good in low range.

Use a ruler, measure 20mm back on the perch and plate. Drill. Put back together.

Don't chuck longer shackles on without longer springs.

I was in the same boat as you and asked a few questions last week.
With a 2" BL it should clear 30" without a problem or a 2" spring lift. The rims you need for 30" are 15x7 on a -13 offset

I really wanted 31's but after reading more and getting a few answers i'll be getting some 30s on a 15x7 -13 rim...there shouldn't be any scrubbing if you have a 2" lift (either body or spring)

If you decided to go 31" you will need 15x8 rims on a -23 offset but i personally wouldn't bother with 31" if its your daily...plus you'll need to get a hammer and do some panel beating

Please explain how this will stop it scrubbing once the vehicle is flexed up and the axle touching the bumpstop..

You can use a 15x7 rim. Most prefer it on a zook.
Why wouldn't you bother with 31s for a daily? I run 31s on a daily fine, I love them. With correct gearing you can run 35s as a daily.

very helpful thread guys cheers.

im also a noob to the sierra setups and quite new to 4x4 in general.
im running 235/75's on my hardtop sierra without any lift. and running sunnys assuming they are -13 but haventy checked. sit nicely on the guards. was thinking of going to 30's or 31's but was advised against it due to stock clearance and gear dramas.

i think the biggest thing here that hasnt been addressed is gearing... getting 30" tyres to fit is all fine and dandy, but driving with them on and offroad is going to kill clutches and smash parts faster than anything.

my advice is not to go to anything above 28" without seriously considering reduction gearing, whether through tcase or diffs or both, you'll end up with a far more capable, more driveable zuk if you get the gearing sorted.

for 30's i think 4.16 tcase gears, for 31's im using 5.14tcase gears (although i have a 1.6 EFI engine) - those running the 1.3 carby might want to go 6.5 tcase for 31s.

Post subject:  Re: whos running 30s on a reasonably stock sierra

well step one for me is getting my engine sussed. step two is getting the susspension sussed and step three is getting my tyres (and gearing if possible). though if im gona be spending money on gears i may aswell go for somthing bigger than 30s. the again the diff is on its way out already. if i pull the gear box to do gears ill smash a heavy duty clutch in it anyway. so i may aswell get all that i can out of those two b4 i start spending money on em.

As i mentioned earlier...i would love to run 31's but you need to do some panel beating and if its a daily 30's would be better plus you won't need any garden edging to the guards from bunnings :P

bleh... the chain of modding a suzuki
need new suspension- cant get standard springs have to go for a lift
lift looks gay with small tyres
bigger tyres added
bigger tyres need lower gears.
low gears needs more power
efi 1.6 added
to much torque/ grips = blown diff
needs new diff may aswell get lockers
start to get excited car
car falls on roof
buys a landcruza :)

What I was trying to point out here is that a 2inch spring lift is a static 2 inch lift, hence the car will stand 2 inch higher. Yes when its standing it will clear the tires no problems but when you flex it up to the bumpstop the height will still be the same between the axle and guards even if you were to use stock springs. Make sense?

Bodylift will lift the car 2 inch once again but in this case once the axle is on the bumpstop the guards will be 2 inch higher that what they usually would be. So no scrubbing.
