Hiya fellas,

I have an 02 shorty GV and finding quite a bit moisture pooling up in the drivers footwell which is coming thru the carpet. I've felt around the area and can't seem to feel/see where it's coming from. It doesn't smell like coolant so I'm pretty sure it's only water.

I haven't driven thru any water but it has been freakin' wet in Sydney lately but I don't think it's from an electrical grommet.

I don't have a sunroof and wonder where it can be coming from. Is there a drain from the antenna mount down the A-pillar? Is there anything A/C related on the drivers side? I thought it was on the passenger side.

Any ideas?

There's a drain for a/c condensation. Sometime those drain hoses get blocked and leak water everywhere.

When you turn corners can you hear a sizzling noise from the heater box.

(I dont know much about suzuki's just coming from experience )

Yeah, there's a conduit for the AC that runs from one side of the dash to the other, so I've been told.

Probably got a leak somewhere in there.

A/C drain is clear as I can see it from the engine bay and there's always water coming from it when I run the A/C. It's also on the passenger side and my problem is on the drivers side.

is the water mainly under the pedals or closer to the door?

If its near the door it could be water from inside the door, coming in from under the door trim, all because the drain holes in the bottom of the door were blocked.

I'm not sure where it's coming from but it pools right in the center of the footwell, which seems to be the lowest point in the footwell.

I'll check my door drain holes though.

Is it everytime you drive ? Only when a/c is on? Heater on? After rain ?

maybe the bottom of the windscreen??? and its just making its way down??? can you see anyother precipitation under the dash???

I'll bet 100% it's your pollen filter located under behind the glovebox. I found out the hard way as I had similar problem. Water found it's way into computer and fried it.
Took me weeks to locate this problem and after being told that the car had no pollen filter and found problem after computer fried. Since replacing filter have had no water issue. It appears to me it relies on air flowing through the pollen filter for water to flow out of the hose. When blocked water doesn't flow out of vehicle and back into cabin conveniently near the computer.

not sure if his is LHD, but when he mentions drivers footwell, I assume it's one the opposite side to the glovebox.

IT"S NOT THE POLLEN FILTER!!!!!

Besides the fact that the filter is on the passenger side and my problem is on the driver's side, but also because I've changed said filter a few months ago as well.

I'm pretty sure it's only when it rains, although I tend to use my A/C in the rain to dehumidify the air.

I haven't had my windscreen replaced ever.

Could it be related to the fresh air vent under the windscreen???

seeing YOU SO SURE IT'S NOT the first one, take the panel off & see if it's blocked up, BUT, that flow straight to the POLLEN filter anyways.

ive been getting water in from an ac hose grommet, its looks sealed and I only found it rom a dribble of water coming from it during a storm so you would be suprised where it can come from

get in, get somebody to hose everywhere one part at a time, youll see water when its on the leak

Just so that you know - if you spill water in the back of the GV - it WILL run all the way forward into the front foot wells.

I'm not saying that this is where yours is coming from, but be aware of it and check to see if there is any dampness in the rear (luggage area) and rear seat footwells also.

Hmmm... food for thought. I've always had a problem with my rear door rattle. It did leak for a while but I stuck on some extra rubber sealing (from Clarke Rubber) on the door side and this solved the sealing issue. It hasn't leaked since but it does rattle just a tad.

My rear door used to suck dust in, I had to mod the body a lil bit to get the thing to seal.

Have you thought outside the square and thought it may be coming from underneath???? Check your bungs, maybe rust holes, maybe a rust hole in the lower gaurd and it seeps in wetting the floor.

Is there a way to access the fresh air vent without having to disassemble the entire dash? I'm thinking maybe it's coming from there as it maybe blocked.

I've tried going thru the FSM but can't find any reference.

you should be able to pull most of the leave's out, trust me, you don't want to pull the dash out unless you have done one before.
you'll end up with million's of bit's....

My rear door rattles and it s**ts me where is this so called Striker ??

The bit on the body the door lock "strike's" on to close, should have 2 big phillip's head's holding it on..
