:please: can any one help. backing up a small track on friday, sun in my eyes and put the back wheel in a big mud puddle me thinks no prob jump out in ankle deep mud lock hubs in change to low drive out no problem. wrong!!! locked hubs in they make the mormal click noise when they engage the 4wd light comes try low range but only back wheels spin. it seems like it is still in 2hi i removed the rubber boot on the transfer lever thinking it might be the shifter sheet thingy, but the out put shaft to the front diff was spinning. what should i check first???? thought it might be cv's but no noise or could it be the hubs not locking in hoping it mightbe something simple as cheap to fix. help 8O

I would be looking at the hubs to make sure they slide free and lock properly

6 10mm bolts either side, try locking the hubs before undoing them, if the spring out they arent locking

if the hubs look ok then start looking at cv's, just remember you one need i hub or CV to not work and you wont get any front drive

When you put it back together don't pack the whole housing with grease, just lube the bits that need it.
