are you using a sierra sender?
are you sure its getting hot enough?
do you have a decent earth from body to engine?
does your fuel gauge read right?
does the gauge read hot if you short the wire to the manifold?

I would say your body to battery earth is shot, thats makes the gauges read funny
and yeah vitara senders read low in a sierra, get a sierra sender or better yet a quality aftermarket gauge

hey royce / joe i shorted the temp cable to the motor and it went right up to hot so that means that it has to be the wrong sender for that gauge right?
