Royce is the man when it comes to tube or pipe threads

About 60 dollars a metre I get it in 6.3 lengths
What ever it is we use it in the race cars
It's 38mm OD 3mm thick

do you have any left? got any marking on it?

what about square ie rhs is it tube or pipe or just rhs? makes good sliders anyway.

some 32nb CHS will do the trick, medium wall for well braced stuff like bars and heavy wall for sliders

get something Australian made from metaland or orrcon, it will be of a repeatable quality and nicer to bend and weld

Autobarn, supercheap, mitre 10, bunnings, auto parts place, machine place or try eBay Go to blackwoods and get a tube die instead of using pipe die(there shit for tube) Or get one made like I use

get the right dies for the steel you use. If you want pipe ask for pipe dies, if you are using tube use tube dies. they are different. A medium or heavy walled pipe is strong enough for most bar work, roll cages excluded.

This is how I see it. Off the shelf cheap NB pipe belongs outside the vehicle..... Special order quality OD tube belongs inside the vehicle..... CDS or CDW doen't make any real difference. Alot of race cage manufacturers will use CDS as it is easier to internally laminate joins or bends with a telescopic sized tube. (OD matches the ID of the outer tube). I use 1.75" (44.45mm) 350 mpa CDS for internal cages. Its a japanese milled steel and very nice to work with. If $$$ permit, molly is used. (same size) But for most applications that AZ sierras are used for, 32NB medium pipe is sufficent.

I used 40NB shed 80 pipe for my links which will more then likely get dragged along a few rocks occassionally. Its 48.3mm outside and 5.5mm wall and will be plenty strong enough for sliders. Cost me $140 per 6m length and was off the shelf.
