Hey Guys

I'm looking at lifting my new Sierra. Whats my best option, full leaf spring kit like the ones offered on ebay or a simple body lift?

Lift with your legs not your back!

Actual Sierra lifting advice:

Depends what you're trying to do with it, there's a few threads on here about ome lifted springs (that's old man emu) and then getting shocks for commodore and hiace from supercheap or similar, supposed to be the best bang for buck spring lift.

For body lift get a just cruzin kit off the bloke on here.

Bolt in suspension lift is for improving ride.

A body lift is for improving tyre clearance.

They are different things, and the "right" setup for you might be one, or both.

I would definitely go the suspension lift first, makes a big difference to offroad and onroad performance and handling ! :D

depending on what size tyre's you want to run and what you want out of car will determine the setup for you. Have a search on the forums for "RUF" and go through users build threads in the rigs section and that will give you a few ideas. Some users may even be kind enough to link you to their threads.

FYI - i have one of those full suspension kits off ebay. They are seriously cheap but i have found that the leaf spring packs are way to hard and the shocks are pretty cheap looking. I just grabbed it to put into my LJ, however if i was to do it again i would probably look into sourcing springs/shocks/bushes from different places and putting together a better all around kit.
