Cutting the sump with a SPOA? Maybe. Better to just swap a 1.3 sierra sump on.

You'll will have water neck and distributor problems. ( I assume it's a throttle body EFI motor) The distributor points straight out the back of the head, as does the water neck.

Luke - Because they are fuel injected, are are easy to find in wreckers.

Yes, manifolds could be swapped, but you loose the thermostat and water neck on the inlet manifold - it's on the back of the head on the barina engine.

Post subject:  Re: Barina engine

im fitting a barina motor into my SJ70, only cause the motor that came with it has been overheated. it is the same engine, i just have to swap my exhaust manifold, intake manifold, timing belt sprockets and pullies (only reason for replacing these is cause the barina engine was used by the apprentices for practicing adjusting tappets and harmonic balancer is missing)

i will need to compare sumps to know if i need to change that

Thats a good point... There were no G13 Barinas in 96... 1994 was when they changed from the Swift to the Opel Corsa...
