when you say you want new flares, how much are your tyres sticking out??? im using the 50mm flares from clark rubber and theyve been brilliant - because my tyres are outside my metal flares if i fall into a rut the rubber just bends out of the way and the tyres rest on the bank rather than damaging anything... the rubber is also weaker than the screws holding it in, so if i do hit it hard enough i can just replace the rubber strip.

most of the aftermarket ones are solid plastic and landing on them will dent the body its attached to as well as being prone to scratching and gouging.

I recently bought 2 sets of 4 rear bushwackers. (8 altogether)

Postage was $320usd for 1 set or same $320usd for 2 sets.

So i got 2 sets as its still under the 1k exemption, shared postage with someone else and it works out abit cheaper than just buying 1 set.

Landrover flares are cheap.. Bushwackers from what ive seen and been told wont like running along banks too much. Depends on how much you like you panels i guess.

Depends on brands of bushwackers. There are many copies. Mine are genuine, in a bushwacker box.

I will be running tube on the outside anyway, 7" isnt wide enough for mine..

Bushwackers look great and hide just about any rubber. You can pretty much squash them to the body and they come back no worries. Problem as said before is they dont like being squashed and rubbed along the bank/rocks. I have had to plastic weld mine a few times already(at the mount holes). If you gonna put them on get some protection for them.

And this is why I don't like bushwackers. A flare that needs protection from rubbing against a bank is pointless - if theflares need a bar to protect them just take the flares off and run rubber/urethane/polycarbonate/whatever from the bar to the body.

I am aware we spend lots of time jammed against banks here in Vic, and not everyone wheels that kind of terrain, but I've heard the same story about broken mounts enough to reckon Bushwackers are either made of the wrong material or are badly designed.

Yes you may be right but amazingly the thing with the wackers is they come back to shape. Cant say the same about standard flares with rubber hanging off them. Yes it is a shame they dont hold on better but personally I would have these any day
