hi guys. just got a sierra. meant to have reduction gears. pretty sure it does based on the way it goes in low range but wanna check with you guys. car has 31 inch mud tyres. if i put it in 4wd low in 1st and second i dont think the speedo even moves. in 4th in low range it does a max speed of 30kmh. even at 7000rpm its only doing 30kmh. so does it sound like crawler gears. meant to be the 6.1 or something gears. or is it maybe normal or possible its got the 1l transfer case? its a 1990 1.3 litre wide track. thanks guys |

yea sound reduced to me. my stock gearing is crap in low range. can do like 20kmh in 1st. got 6.5's on the way tho transfer gears will change high range too. 31's would be bad without them |

if it had a standard case you'd be doing 80kph in low 4, take the crawler gears out, you'll never be able to race it like that

thanks guys. im happy now. dont really care what ratio they are aslong as they are reduction gears as that and the front and rear lockers are the reason i bought the car |

this is what I did to mine to check if it had 6.5 - which it did Put gearbox in neutral... Hubs unlocked... Transfer in 4lo If you have an open rear diff you can jack up one rear wheel and support with an axle stand Then turn the shafts to count the ratio....No need to remove any bolts. |
