LWB's are great for stability. Leaf sprung are cheap to mod. Coily's are pretty but difficult to mod because parts need to be adapted from a coily. The top you want is known as a fastback.

NT is narrow track - Has springs mounted in further n the chassis compared to later wide track (WT) models. Better for flex, and allows you ti fit WT diffs later for a wider stance.

LWB is long wheelbase (either a trayback or wellback).

Tintop is a solid roof, as opposed to a soft top.

i like the sound of the wt to fit wider diff on later for a wider stance what years and modles are they and they coile or sprung??

You fit wt diffs to nt to get the wider stance and they are leaf sprung. Cheaper to modify than coil sprung sierras

Am i right or are they the same thing???

Less noise coming from outside, less prone to leaking than a soft top. Soft tops windows go foggy after a while and you can't see through very well.

Unless you get a canopy :)

Post subject:  Re: Help on what body type Sierra best to get!!!!!!

i like soft tops more =) to me they just have more character... cold mornings in winter arent that bad - the heater in a sierra works great. leaky? yeh sure they all leak a little but not that much. mine only really leaks in heavy rain above 80km/hr through the front of the windscreen frame where it meets the soft top.

as for security, if someone wants in they'll get in... sierras arent secure at the best of times - just dont leave anything in there to get stolen.

all that said if i was looking for a sierra in perth in good condition and found one under $4k with no rust it'd be a great buy whether its hard or soft top.

Soft top FTW!
I love my soft top, i like to drive with the roof off whenever i can but it is a bit noisier and when i hose it it gets a little bit of water in.

And you can get heaps of different typres of soft tops for it!

No top and a fucked heater for me and it works fine.

I don't have to use it as a daily driver but generally do.

Really comes down to your personal preference.

A soft ( or no ) top would become tiresome if you didn't enjoy the fresh air.

Soft top with fibreglass canopy for winter/wet season.FTW.

Best of both worlds..........

But I won't be happy till I have 1 of each style......

A longy,a soft shorty,a hard shorty,a pope mobile,one could be a drover,a ute and a coi............hold on.

I probably wouldn't go a coily.........
I'm in a small community....................
Wouldn't want to give the wrong impression. :D
