Howdy all,

Got under the vit tonight to adjust the camber pins, thinking they'd shifted the last time I was out wheeling.

This is what I saw.

So the question I have is this.

Who has replaced their Calmini 3" kit struts, and what have they replaced them with?

I've done a quick search and was looking at OME struts, are these the way to go? or are there other more cost-effective items available...

Cheers for the help....

Dobinsons come in alot cheaper than OME's & there is a possibility that there is a current issue with the quality of the OME struts according to JoeBlow.

The only other longer strut from memory is Ironman.

I personally have Dobinsons on my SWB Vit. They work an absolute treat, nice rebound, and no problems so far (my car is a tourer, but I still take it out hard occasionally).

So is that 40mm over standard?

Do you know what part number?

Also how much can i expect to pay for these?

Cheers for the info.

40mm over stock ride height. They also do a 50mm lift. Of course, it all depends on what you have in at the moment, how much your springs have sagged, etc.

I don't know the part number, but the struts themselves should only be around 250-280 a pair, springs around 170-200 a pair, depending on where you buy them from.

Give Tim over at Outdoor Auto a bell, he did the suspension in my car for a decent price

Send dobinson an email, i did to get stockists for south australia and they replied quickly with stockists and the part number.
He said if i have any problems let him know and i could get them through them.

They're based up in Rocky, so they'll probably overnight you a set if its in stock.

Are you running the Calmini strut spacer in your set-up?

It's a bit hard to see in the pic.

If you are, you might find the stut is a bit long. If you don't have the spacer in then the Dobinsons strut should be perfect.
