Did you adjust the adjuster all the way back in?

Are the shoes "centred" correctly??

Have you reset the handbrake adjuster?
You need to stick a flat blade screwy into the cam ratchy thingy (auto handbrake adjuster) for the handbrake to reset.

Let off the handbrake, wind both adjusters all the way inwards, centre the shoes.
The drum should slide over with perhaps some gentle persuasion from a small hammer.

You didn't order oversized shoes by mistake? The come in a regular size and a larger size to suit drums that have been machined smooth.

i had the handbrake disconnetcted from it since the start.

i couldnt get the drum over the new pads with the shoes the way i thought they went so changed them around and i could get it on with a hammer. but when i tightened up the drum case onto it it full locked the whole thing from spinning.

so i put it back together the way i thought it goes with the original pads but there very low so gotta find out how to do it soon.

i put it back together as per the other side coz i couldnt remember how it was.

i mainly pulled it apart to change a leaky wheel cylinder so thats in now but will have to do the brakes very soon

sometimes can be a pain in the ass mate last set i did i stuffed aroudn with it for ages to get the pads centred and then just bolted everything together and went for a drive...was pretty bad early on but it loosened up after a while. not an ideal solution but i think they remanufacture some pads a little thick....

Did you push the pistons on the cylinder back in to bring the pads closer to the centre?

Also I'm pretty sure the FSM says the maximum thickness of the pad.
