Post subject:  Custom bar work Victoria?

Hi guys, I can't find any rear bars for Vitara's. So I want to get a custom one made.

Does anyone know of any places in Vic that make custom bars etc?

Cheers

Matty

Im not being a hater, (and I'm making NO judgement about Cammo's work -

But A) A custom rear bar is going to be very expensive. Figure $800+

B) A rear bar is going to be pretty heavy, even more so if it has a tyre carrier on it.

C) What's it going to be doing? I wouldn't bother with a tyre carrier for a full sized spare - A psare up to about 31" will go on the back door (bigger if you leave it aired down) and latching and unlatching a carrier every time you want to get in the back gets old.

I think there's a case for a very light bar with a rail to prevent you dragging the spare on the ground on heavy climbs/drops, but I don't think it' really that big a deal

Besides, I quite like the look of Vitara's with no rear bumper on them, but maybe that's just me.

I spoke to Brown Davis rollbars today, and he said that he has a bloke from cheezy racing working for him now. I've heard they're pretty good anyway.

I think I might try and see if I can get a bundle discount by getting a bullbar, rocksliders a rear bar and a long range fuel tank in one hit.

The reason I want a rear bar is basically for protection of the rear. I think driving the vit round with no bar at all would attract unwanted attention.

Why would a heavy rear bar be bad?

Thanks

Can vouch for B4T's guy... does a very impressive bar as can be seen in B4's SIERRA thread(pretty sure its the guy he is suggesting)

Dunno if Brown Davis are the way to go.. but if ya got the $$.... will be a VERY expensive 'bundle'...

heavy=unwanted weight=worse fuel economy=lighter wallet=less $ for OTHER mods...

I worked for brown davis for a while years ago,
I hope you saved your pennies as they know how to charge.
drown davis specialise in roll cages and fuel tanks , front and rear bars are not really their thing and you will pay for one to be designed
