I am considering this YJ spring lift kit

It costs somewhere around $700 with springs, without shocks and extended brake lines(which can come later). Anyone have any advice on this and if it might be cheaper elsewhere?.

Wouldn't ID/OD, Length, Flange width be more useful?

If your looking at Jeep springs, I am using CJ-7 fronts on my LJ81's. They are about 100ish mm longer than a Suzuki rear, and still 50mm wide (2" actually, but thats only a fly shit off of 50mm). Best of all, they are soft! I have 8 leaves in the pack, and I can easily compress them with my hand.

Biggest pain is getting the springs locally. The set I have, I recently imported from the US through Hammond Jeep. I may end up doing a few more sets the same way...

Would you guys be able to post up the lengths of both cj and yj springs, including distance to centre pin from front and rear of the spring?

Hectic flex....its not all about flex Controled movement is where it is at. Take want33's LWB for example, doesn't sit that high, no body lift, clearances his tyres just, bump stops where it matters and to a desired length. But it works extremely well. JMO, there are definately better ways and options out there

I tried last year to get this kit, 4 months of begging, gave up, told them no longer interested as they took too long.

notice all the photos are of front end flex????? thats because hilux and YJ leaves are too stiff for the zuk rear for it to work fully. i've only got 2 leaves in the rear of mine and it still struggles to compress down to the bumpstop. these pics show the difference front to rear: you can see the front end has about 100mm more down travel than the rear. The front here still has way more to go as well, but is being limited by the body roll induced by the rear unloading (notice the shackle isnt even vertical yet?). crewsy on here has a bolt on YJ kit running lux fronts as well - he is SPUA while mines SPOA - we get around the same droop however i've got more compression as i can run less leaves in my packs. monkey on here however has a jimny running the 80mm tough dog lift, and he got about 300mm further up that log than my sierra could running 235/75r15 tyres. His jimny flexes better than my sierra with a straight bolt on kit vs. my custom setup. so im not saying dont do it, just think about what you're trying to achieve.

YJ springs are one of the softest rides you can get for a zook, they work well and I have enjoyed having them. I run the trail tough kit, RRO has a good reputation overseas, but here they are not such a good vendor. I don;t know why they can ship stuff overseas, but can;t get it out of their own backyard. If you can find the YJ templates (like RUF relocation plates), and make the front pieces you would be money ahead. For the rear, if you want YJ's run skys's offroad designs kit. it is very well built, and he is a great vendor IMHO it is the best kit that does not use missing links. If you buy from rocky road, make it through low range, that way you will be sure to get a complete kit. Of you have any YJ questions shoot me a PM or ask here. I am always willing to help if I can. You know thinking about it, RUF/Sky's YJ rear would be a good setup with a nice approach angle, that would be something to look around and ask about too. Skyman, what do you guys with YJ springs do for spring bushes? Thats my only headache with the CJ springs I'm setting up at the moment, as the Jeep steel bonded bushes don't suit the Suzuki hangers at all.

We use poly jeep bushes for the springs, and poly bushes for the sierra in the frame. Only need half of the kit from each rig though Man what's the name of those red poly bushes I forget.

daystar! Trail tough sells a mixed kit think, but check prices against your local auto part store too. some of TT's stuff is more expensive from them, others way cheaper. http://www.daystarweb.com/products.php?id=62

seeing that the CJ springs are 2inch. and the yj at 2.5??? i would say they would be different, however they would possibly be a better option for cutting down than the standard CJ ones. Skyman, happen to have any YJ bushes around you might be able to measure?

i would be more concerned with the OD but also the thickness of the flanges if the are two piece bushes. with the original CJ bushes i had the flange on the boush was proll 15mm tick on each side of the spring

Sort of...... if by upside down chassis in the shed, then yes Oh and fitted with small size Suzuki bushes, which is really dodgey! Hence my quizzing about bushes.
