hey guys im trying to figure out how get my wiring loom into the car.

I got back my 1.6l engine loom from killa kustom kables.

It seems as if i need to leave most of the 1.3L wiring in the engine bay to run things like lights, guages and alternator. Is this correct?

do i run the 1.6 engine loom thru the same hole/grommet in the fire wall as the rest of the wiring that is already there, ?

or should i get a hole saw and cut a new hole thru the fire wall for the engine wiring?

also, do i use the 1.3L alternator wiring that is already in the car for the 1.6L alternator?

ive got no idea. ive never done anything to do with wiring.

Generally you're on the right track - normally, they conversion loom will be and engine loom only. No gauges, lights etc run off the engine loom.

I run the engine loom though the passenger side grommet with the computer behind the glovebox.

Alternator wiring will be from the 1.3 methinks.

Best to contact KKK and confirm though.

On the Tug, we took the Baleno engine loom through the firewall on a new (baleno) firewall grommet, and stripped everything else off the 1.3 loom, which is why it's very clean.

wow where is your wiring lol? that is neat as.

when u say u ran the engine loom thru the passenger side gromet, did you have to cut the gromet a bit to fit the loom in?

No, you can kink the plug to fit the plug though the stock hole from memory.

Heh, doesn't take long to get dirty does it!

I'm confident I can do the conversion stuff, just need to get a bloody engine and the gear to do it!

Steve does the loom so that you only use the new stuff to run the injection and ignition.
The old wiring is retained for lights, starter, alternator, oil pressure, water temp.
Get a 50mm hole saw and put another hole in the passengers side of the firewall next to the one where your original loom comes out.
Steve will have left the large grommet on the new wiring.

Not the best pic but you can see both the grommets here...

Measure twice, cut once!

If you haven't stripped out the existing loom make sure you don't bloody cut or drill through it while you're doing it!

Good luck.
