Just fitted 'reco' gearbox. After two different attempts at supplier rebuilding box, it makes a noise with foot off the clutch, in or out of gear. The noise is like the sound a supercharger with a toothed belt makes. I'm thinking input shaft bearing but all the bearings have been replaced. Any ideas? |

Take it back to the supplier. Was there a warranty on it? |

'Reco' exchange gearbox. Noise was there the first time I put it in, so I took the box back. He replaced a couple of bearings and I put it in again. Same noise. Took the box back and this time he rebuilt the box and did the r and r himself. Same noise. |

Will check starter (again) this afternoon to rule out further repeat of starter diagnosis. atari4x4 it's a sierra and the noise happens while stationary, in neutral with clutch released. At that moment there is no movement in the t/c ruling that out as a potential culprit. |
