Would a short drive belt cause my idler bearing problems?

I replaced my drive belt several 000km's ago along with my idler pulley bearing. I replaced my belt with a 5PK1635 but I've now come to the realisation that it may actually be a 5PK1650, so 15mm longer.

Now I can easily remove/replace the belt using tensioner pulley so is the 1635 belt actually OK or can it still be too short and possibly causing my idler pulley bearing to prematurely fail?

Could the too-short belt be detrimental in anyway? Could it shorten the life of the tensioner (i.e. too much pressure)?
