hey guys few q's, wanted to know what rpm you rev your engine to, as my jimny sounds like its revving hard at 4000 nowhere near 6500 like red line says. btw its 98 i think sohc.

my lights dim when winding window down or up, possibly thinking a bigger battery, and dual batteries, will my altenator run 1 big and possibly 2?

any other advice or tech tips to make her into a nugget. i will get pics up soon. thnx

Just because the tachometer say's 10,000rpm, doesn't mean it'll do it. You can usually feel when the power band ends. In saying that I change gear at about 4000 - 4200 rpm

To turn it into a nugget, you can restrict the exhaust and intake, put some fast and the furious style graphics on it and a shopping trolley rear wing for extra downforce.

98' will be the g13bb

Extractors and a full exhaust will make it breathe happier.

The engine will cutout before redline to stop any damage from over revving.

so between 800ish and 6500ish rpm its all play time!

I like nuggets with sweetnsoursauce

It should be able to rev past 4000rpm quite easily, if it sounds laboured, it may have a problem... try revving it past 4000 up to 5000rpm, and see how it goes... it may just be dirty injectors.....

As for the electrics, put a Multimeter on the battery, see what voltage it is, then start your zook up, and check the voltage again, see what its charging at, should be around 13.8 to 14.5 volts, then turn the engine off, and see what charge the battery is holding, if it drops below 12volts, it may be the battery... if lights are dimming, it means its not getting enough juice... the Jim alternator will run one battery fine, but two, maybe not, not sure what the Jimny Alternator is rated too, from memory, i think the Sierra one was rated to 35amps, so the Jimny should be a bit higher than that, now they have more elcetronics in them...

As for mods, Suspension lift kit, and tyres... then extractors and sports exhaust... as for other mods, it all depends on if its gonna still be a daily driver, or a weekend toy... :D

This is true. Got cranky with a turd on the freeway the other week that decided to overtake me and then came very close to running me off the road because he decided he needed to pullover. Rather than hit him or get hit by the guy that was behind me, I dropped it down a gear and flattened it and powered around him. Rev limiter cut in just over red line as I was about to change up a gear again.
