Hi all, looks like i need a rebuild kit put through my transfer case, (just got quoted $395 8O for the kit alone), or a 2nd hand one if I can get a good one!
My question is, is the transfer case off a '97 2.0Lt V6 compatible with the 2.5 and 2.7 V6 ??
Just wondering as it may make finding a replacement easier ... hopefully!

nope, i'm pretty sure they're different. but i think they are the same as the later 1.6 transfercases.

Tombutt just did the swap with a 1.6l case that had transfer gears... maybe he might off load his old one?

I know you can use a SV620 manual transfer on a SQ625 auto but not manual. 2.7 all different. only the type 1 2.5 auto transfer will fit but stay away from them, they are trouble, big trouble unless they have had the modified 4x4 hub selector fitted to them

Be carefull there......most V6 cases have a coarse output spline.
