Has anyone bought or made a high clearance crossmember for the gearbox on a GV.

I bent mine on the last trip out and want to replace it with something stronger that doesnt hang down as much.

I thought about using some 10mm thick x 150mm wide steel plate and getting it bent to shape. Is that overkill or can i get away with something slightly thinner?

Cheers

There was a guy in the US did one out of RHS - looked quite simple - let me see if I can find the pictures.

Here you go - it may not count as high clearance, but it certainly is no lower than the frame rails - and it has a certain elegance to it.
