is there any one on here running one of these engines? can you bolt them up to a 1.3 ltr 5 speed? just been reading about them and want to know how there go as it would be easer than 4ag i'm looking to do because they bolt up to 1 ltr ( my car is a 1 ltr) mounts. |

Easiest way to do it would be to get a front cut, all the bits should just bolt straight in. I've never driven one though, so can't comment on the performance. There is nothing straight forward about a 4A swap, as everything has to be fabricated. And as Pubic will attest to, T50 transmissions are not the easiest things to find. I've driven a 4A powered Sierra though, it went like a stabbed rat |

i was reading about a few cars with these engines and got me thinking would be easyer than a 4ag but if they are shit to drive i'll go with the 4ag. i know there is nothing straight forward with the swap. i'll have to do engine, gear box, radiator monuts, loom wiring, jack shaft, fuel pump and exhaust. is there anything else i need yo know before i go get the engine> do i have to mod the trans tunnel to fit the box in a 1 ltr body? |

You're bound to come across a few things that you didn't think of, you'll just have to sort those as you go. Brett wrote: do i have to mod the trans tunnel to fit the box in a 1 ltr body?
I don't recall my mate's zook having any tunnel mods, but don't take that as gospel. What engine are you looking at getting? |

a sierra is about the same size as a golf cart so maybe thats why people like the engine. i'm looking to get a engine out of a 89- 90's corolla. there are a few cars anound here for about $200. one has a dead head gasket and the other needs new rings. the engine has to come out any way so might as well fix a gasket or rings while it is and i get the loom. now just have to track down a t50 out of a 76 celica and away i go. |

Yes, the F6A will bolt in on 1.0 mounts and no, it shouldn't be shithouse unless there were issues that needed addressing. Having driven one I would put it as better than a 1.6 carby and I have a K6A going in to mine which is better again but good luck trying to find either a F6A or K6A. |

I presume you'd be wanting an F6A Turbo, not N/A? The F6A Turbo in Japanese Jimnys put out as much power as a G13B, but with less torque. There are more that a couple of Cappucinos getting around with the F8B block with the F6A-T head and ancilliaries that really honk along. All F blocks F8A(LJ80, SK80 Carry), F10A(1.0lt Sierra, Super Carry) (4 cyls), F5A(Mighty Boy, Alto), F6A(Alto), F6A-T(Cappucino) and F8B(Hatch) (3 cyls) all have the same bellhousing pattern, clutch style, and Rad connections to make the swap possible. I'd love to put a hybrid F8B/F6A-T into an LJ80! |
