just a random thing i have noticed. do all Suzuki 4's have the same exhaust note? i was just looking at ataris vid and his s j20a and it sounds identical to my g13b that sounds identical to my old g13a... is it in the length of the exhaust? whats with it? just a interesting thing i have noticed! its a great sound that is diffrent to all other 4's that i have herd. |

i will add jazzors m13a sounds nothing like that. so m series aside...... i just find it strange that they can have a completely different valve set up but still get the same note... also 11evl's buggie G16B had the same note when it was smashing the limmiter at tuff truck. |

i was thinking that. size and route though the car... some one must know! i was expecting my g13b to sound like a ricer... but it sounds exactly the same as my g13a (different exhaust all together) they are 2 very different motors, even the port angles are radically different |

i take that as an insult phil, stinkin' coily driver 
the muffler/cat makes the note, it just has that typical twin cam 4 cyl bark ricers sound like ricers due to their shit idea of what a muffler is. |

im not sure thats the case gus.. some engines have a "note" that no matter what u do its the engine note.. take the 4age.. u can here a twinky and id it from miles way when its sinning deep in to the 7***rpm range... and most of the cars that make the "zook note" are g13a's carbi fed 8 valve singe cams. |

atari's doesnt sound like any suzuki ive heard before 
The vids dont do it justice and sounds nice in the dead of darkness when you can hear it going up gorilla snot hill

Engine size and firing order are what makes the distinctive sound.... That is why SWB or LWB with or without extractors and/or cat conv all sound very similar. Same reason 308 Holdens sound shit and 302 Ford (Windsors) sound sooo good. Firing order. |

Most four cylinders have a 1-3-4-2 firing order, and if we used your "theory" a 1.3 BMC A-series would sound similar to 1.3 Suzuki G13B - they don't - they are both distinctly different. As a second example - I have two Mitsubishi 4G63 engined vehicles here - same engine size, same firing order - and they sound NOTHING like one another. For the third example - I have two Suzuki G13B engined vehicles, again same engine size, same firing order - and they too sound nothing like one another. Strangely enough - at idle & low rpm operation - one of the G13B engined vehicles sounds a lot like one of the 4G63 engined vehicles - close enough that if you're not looking out the window, when they pull up in front of the house, you can't tell which is which from the sound. |

I played round with different mufflers on my volvo in an attempt to change the note but it didn't really work. one muffler may have been quieter than another but the note was the same. The only thing that made a difference was a fart cannon, and that sounded like a bourbon bog after a hard night... My G16b with single highflow muffler sounds great on the limiter, and sound slike any other G16b out there. |

Put a big enough exhaust on a G16a Vitara and it can sound like a WRX at idle and low revs. Think some people need to get there ears checked. None of them sound alike if you listen. All exhaust notes depend on the exhaust size, length, bends, mufflers and Manifolds. A J20 sounds completly different at 6500rpm compared to a G13Ba at the same revs. |

A previous bitza motor I built g13a bored block, g13b ported polished shaved head, flattop pistons, heavy camm ,ect ect sounded absaloutly nothing like the stock as g13b engine I replaced it with, using the same extractors and highflow cat exhaust, It had a hell of alot more of a bark and was border line probably to noisy after I swapped it out, I personally think there is alot of factors into the SIERRA note as such, previously stated in other posts, engine size, exhaust size , length,bends, mufflers, catts, Extractors/standard exhaust manifold, injected, carby the list goes on, All in all I u found 2 Suzuki"s that sounded identical, I'd love to hear it |

I have 2 sierras and a vitara. One is G13 and stock. One is G16 with 1.3 head and the other is G16. All carby. None sound even remotely close. |

originally it was just a cat back 2.25" exhaust with a muffler, then after fitting a hi-flo metallic cat it changed the note slightly & now had a bit more bark to it. the coolest thing is it now makes the burbles you get from over run. |

My 92 vitara came with an aftermarket exhaust already on it and it sounds like shit. Can't hear my music and can't have a conversation. Hideous. Got to fix it asap. |

Mine is stupidly loud inside the cab, and driving around in an undercover carpark or under a bridge, the thing sounds like the ricers that drive around with a milo tin on the exhaust... It has character though! Oh and on the highway you have a couple of different noises to choose from, exhaust noise, transfer whine, road noise or stereo! |
