my omes, and several others i know of, suffered badly from axle wrap, i have three sets in the space of 3 weeks and folded them into s shapes.

never had those issues with efs

Actually I just remembered
There is two kind of ome fronts leaf springs
Medium is about $81 and what you got qouted for would be the heavy ones
The medium are the softest spring you can get, so they will sag over time faster then say, efs or kings I would imagine

Kings are rock hard even with leafs removed. Then axle wrap is a problem in the rear with leafs removed.

my choice if i was buying off the shelf would be EFS rears and Kings front.

with the weight of the engine, Kings work perfectly

Dbona has said he wants to get harder leaves and take a leaf out for flex. The ride height between OME hard and soft is the same 40mm, so if you take a leaf out of the hard pack, you're left witha soft pack.

Save yourself $40 and get the soft set and don't take out a leaf.

ARB have only told you the springs won't fit an '81 Sierra 'cos that's what their catalog tells them. But the catalog listing is only for 1.3 lt Sierras, which came out in '84. Before that, the u-bolts for 1.0 Sierras and LJs were a smaller size, so ARB used to have a different catalog page for them. The springs will fit from 1974 LJ50 through to 1996 SJ70.
