hey guys i can get my hands on a set of 4.8 or 4.9 gears for my sierra for a really cheap price brand new. was wondering if it is worth the job with the tyres im running?? will i get better pull on the car?? would it be a big job to put it in?? how long would it take?? the zook still has its stock transfer case.

would love all the help i can get as this is the first time i am going to rebuild the case if its worth the job :)

Assume your talking about 4.9:1 tcase gears into a leafy sierra tcase. If you have never experienced running tcase reduction gears this will total transform your ride both on/off the road with your 30's.

Installation can be a little tricky, as I recall you may have to press off some bearings and replace them. Apart from that its fairly straight forward and there are instructions on the net.

took me and a mate 4 hours with no idea what we were doing, just following the instructions and doing it as it said. we didnt have a bearing puller or press but it would make it a lot easier.

i run 30's and put 6.5's in. think it works well with the 1.3

and what is really cheap? buying locally is really expensive. check lowrangeoffroad.com if you havent already
