Hey guys,
got a drama with a shagged wheel stud on the back of my Jimny, I was just wondering, do i only have to take the drum off and give the stud a whack to get it out? or do i need to dismantle the whole lot like the service manual indicates?

this link sorta makes it look like i can get to it without taking the axle out.

If the studs are fitted into the drum (99% sure it is) then yes you can just whack 'em out once you remove the drum ;)

As long as you can jimmy it around you can get them in without stripping the brakes off. Can be tricky but just hit the stud out and the try and push the new one in on an angle. If you can t get it in then strip part of the brakes off.

Make sure when you hit it out that there is a gap behind it first.....

ok thanks guys, i got a guy getting me a 12x1.25 die so i might give that a go because the stud doesnt really look THAT bad. failing that ill do the hard yards on the weekend i guess.

Ah crap - shoulda clicked the link b4 I posted lol (I did leave a little room for error - I was ONLY 99% sure  ). You might get lucky and have enough clearance between the axle flange and the brake backing plate to get it out. :?
