Ok I have a g16 b baleno motor in my Sierra and every now and then it wont rev clean like it just splutters and carries on but I disconnected the air flow meter from the air intake and it seems to run fine

Have a look at your airflow meter, it's possible the little element that sits in the airstream may be broken or bent.

Balenos didnt have an airflow. They had an airtemp poked into the hose, disconected did no difference for my motor.

disconnecting it will only cause your car to over fuel the engine and kill all the sensors on the exhaust. and eventually the air system sensors. just like those cheep "performance chips" on ebay. look get all the sensors checked.
Air temp.
Cam angle.
Crank angle.
O2 sensor, after manifold and cat.
Throttle position sensor (tps)
EGR if you have one.
and any other u might have. i do not know exactly but i would look into those type of things as well as the usual (dizzy or coil packs, plugs and leads.)
