for a few months now my brake peddle has pulsed when stopping.
wheel bearings appear fine with little to no movement and the calipers and
backing plates appear to have no movement

any ideas? appears worse after driving fastish but that may just be cos i am going faster. :roll:

i think it started after i replaced the rear diff center and axle seals but i cant be sure that that is when it did start.

i wouldn't have thought so as i haven't been over 40kph for at least 12months.

last time i had this problem i fixed it with new pads
they were not wearing square.
if yours are not wearing well i would suggest filing/sanding on concrete ect

Hey Shep, have ya had ur wheels off lately? I'm thinkin like Royce said. Check ur discs and drums and wire brush their mounting faces.

might work, otherwise pull the drums off, give the mating faces a clean and stick em back on, only needs a little bit of shit on there

i had a dt175 motorbike that did this with the front drum brake. could feel the lever going in and out. lol dunno what it was but

Hot spots can also occur when you drive into water and put your foot on the brakes when they are hot.

i reckon royce is on the money. have cleaned up one side and it is a little better
however the four studs are quite loose in there holes so i dont think it will ever be
properly fixed. the car just needs to hold together for about 1000km and then i
can fix everything properly.

I found on mine sometimes pulling the drum off and rotating it 90 degrees and back on would fix it
