Post subject:  88 Sierra leaking coolant waterpump?

Hi guys,

My sierra has a problem with coolant leaking from what looks to be the pipe behind the water pump. Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue? Is this actually the pump or not? Whats the best method to fix?

Cheers

Well if it is comming out of the little hole just behind the pully, it is an indication that it needs replacing. As that is what the little hole is for. just double check it :)

Waterpumps have a bit of drag

What sort of drag are we talking? It probly spins half a revolution when turned over by hand.

My brand new waterpump that has done 0k's only does 1/4 of a turn if I try to spin it and let go.
So quite alot of drag it should have.
