Cost: $32 posted from UK

So i tend to hoard factory publications but during one of my ebay stints i came across a listing for a used Pocket Mechanic Vehicle Manual Suzuki 4wd. Its A5 paper size, had info on all major component overhaul claimed to cover sj410,sj413 AND vitaras. Intriguied i put a bid on it with the intent of comparing it with a factory manual. I was a little sceptical though, i once bought a haynes/chilton manual in my early days and took it straight back to Big W once i took one look at it.

The bidding for the item went a little crazy. So i did a little research and found it NEW listed on UK ebay for the equivelant of Au$32 delivered...
... and it arrived today.
After a quick flick through i'm pretty happy with the level of content. It isn't as 'step by unmistakable step' as a factory manual but i'd say it was a huge improvement over a haynes/chilton manual. The fault finding sections is only 4 to 5 pages but its an efficient summary of major problems.

It also has a basic section covering 'mono-point' and 'multi-point' injection on 8v/16v vitara.

The other point i like to make is there is sufficent info seems to be able to translate into a lj80 or an early model g13bb jimny

The UK Suzuki club that was responsible for putting this together should be commended. The only gripe (and its trivial) is the text on the wiring diagrams could be a little clearer and the pixelated shadowing on the front and back cover removed.

I will have to look at it more completely over the coing weeks but i'd say its a good glovebox companion for someone who doesn't want to lug a thick a4 monstrosity of the FSM.

probably a transparency flattening issue with the text & drop shadow when exporting pdf's out of indesign.
