hi all, i am just making some side steps/sliders for my 1992 swb, just looking for ideas on how to mount them to the chassis, any help would be appreciated thanks. |

U bracket that hugs the chassis rails is the most common. |

yeah, i was looking at that as an option, the only thing that was stopping me is the fact that the brake lines hug the right hand chassis rail, unless there is a way of moving them out of the road? |

That is on a jimny, not very much room, to do the 'U' blot way, on a jimny, so i did it the other way! |

Slide them up between the brake line and the rail. If you make them out of 5mm steel there shouldn't be a prob. |

if it is a sierra, bolt them to the body mounts that stick out from the chassis. easy, strong and out of the way. |

yep it is a sierra, thanks for the help guys, i just stuck my head under a workmates sierra on the way home and he has used the body mounts to mount his sliders so thats the way ill go! |

I agree with shep. thats how i've done mine and they have copped a hard life and haven't moved at all. |

Here's how I do them. he main bracket has to be hammered up onto the rail ( its very tight!) then the rest just unbolts and falls off

that looks sweet fatzook, i will get out in the shed tomorrow and do a bit of playing around, i have made a bullbar and a rear bar, so i have learnt a lot of fab skills, and i really like the way you have mounted those |
