Post subject:  Wobble and steering damper swap

Hi Guys,

I have a Rough Country steering Damper.
WIll i notice any difference is i replace it with a RTC tough dog damper?

Steering has some wobble and is a bit wandery at higher speed.
Car has been lifted and castor correction fitted.

Yes! But it will not fix the issue, just cover up the problem more, but they are great off-road....

A steering dampener will only mask the problem. Your better off spending the money resolving the issue of the wobble
- wheel balance
- buckled wheel
- wheel bearings
- kingpin bearings
- suspension bushes
- steering box

I got Water in my tyres that i cant get out it is causin some wobbles.

Crikey, an there are no tyre dealers in WA who can take the tyre off and drain the water, making your car safe, bugger.

These are all relevant things to check when chasing a steering wobble, but one thing I don't hear people mention much is the knuckle scraper seals. In my own experience I have found that having freshly rebuilt knuckle assemblies makes a lot of difference.

If you check all your bearings, bushes rod ends etc and are still getting the wobble do a knuckle rebuild.
