Im not 100% certain, but from memory you cant fit the clutch plate backwards. It wont fit..

The reason I ask is; I have about a 1/3 stroke play in my clutch pedal, it's in the pedal it self. The cable doesn't move at all, kinda like the pedal has been bent. I've had the gearbox out and put a new clutch when I've changed engines but I haven't touched the pedal end of the clutch cable at all...

the pedal is spring loaded, it will always come all the way up regardless of adjustment, which is what you need to do to the cable.

Mmmmmmmm how you figure its the clutch if the cable doesn't move at all and its all in the pedal?

you don't adjust a cable 'a bit more' you adjust a cable to the right spot

you want a few mm free play at teh clutch arm, IE you grab the arm and move it back and forth it only moves a few mm

push the lever on the box forward with one hand, pull back on the cable with the other, USE SOME EFFORT DON'T BE A LIMP WRIST

if you have more than 5mm gap between the lever and the adjuster nut that normally sits against the lever you aren't trying hard enough, screw it in more

if the cable isn't moving its one of two things

You haven't pulled it all the way through so its just flapping about at the pedal end, so you are a limp wrist

Or the cable outer is stuffed, probably where it bends around the bottom rad hose, but you'd know that cause you'd pay attention to relevant threads on here and known its common and did some troubleshooting before pulling it all apart
